Position Summary:

The Missouri Historical Society is seeking a part-time (M-F 20 hours per week) Reservations Assistant with excellent communication and computer database skills.  The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented and have a demonstrated track record of delivering outstanding customer service. The position works closely with all MHS departments to provide our visitors and clients with an enjoyable and enriching experience.  

 Essential Functions:

  • Reserves and sells tickets for upcoming museum events by online, phone and email communication
  • Keeps highly accurate records of customer interactions and maintains customer management system database preferably Altru, Raisers Edge or similar Blackbaud product
  • Promptly responds to and processes all group tour requests covering all ages for performance tickets and event or group tour reservations
  • Performs accurate and efficient data entry using Altru computer software
  • Works closely with Reservations Coordinators to assist in daily workflow
  • Awareness of all MHS programs, exhibits and events to successfully manage all types of customer inquiries

Liaison with Visitor Experience Supervisors and assist front-line staff as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required

Skills:

  • Exemplary Microsoft Office skills are required
  • Experience using Altru, Raisers Edge or other related Blackbaud integrated ticketing and event computer software
  • Excellent communications and organizational skills with outstanding attention to detail
  • Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with the operations of museums, cultural organizations and/or non-profits
  • Outstanding telephone etiquette
