Position Summary:

The Missouri Historical Society seeks an IT Support Technician. The IT Support Technician will be an important part of a small and dynamic IT department supporting the organization's users and infrastructure.

Essential Functions:

  • Organizational user support and training
  • Server support and administration
  • Respond to calls, email requests, and support tickets
  • PC build/imaging
  • Printer support
  • Phone system support
  • Assist other IT department personnel as needed
  • Some travel between local sites will be required
  • Other duties as assigned


  • High school diploma or secondary education degree 
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred experience with the following systems:

  • Windows desktops/laptops
  • Windows servers and Active Directory
  • Mac desktops/laptops
  • Linux system administration
  • Web hosting environments
  • VMWare
  • Cisco routers and switches
  • Solarwinds administration
  • Office desktop and Office365
  • Avaya phone systems
  • General troubleshooting


  • Ability to communicate clearly and courteously
  • Ability to constructively work with fellow employees and vendors
