Position Summary:

The Annual Giving Coordinator coordinates the overall Thomas Jefferson Society and mid-level giving programs with a focus on membership acquisition, retention, and renewal. The Annual Giving Coordinator reports to the Charitable Giving Advisor.


Duties/Responsibilities:


Donor Cultivation and Stewardship

  • Build relationships with existing mid-level donors and utilize moves management practices to increase support in the Thomas Jefferson Society
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward new mid-level donors and Thomas Jefferson Society members
  • Identify high-capacity donors and transition relationship towards the major gift officers
  • Conduct research to identify potential major donors and corporate partners to support annual giving initiatives.

Database Management

  • Maintain accurate donor records and utilize fundraising software to track donations, analyze giving trends, and wealth screens
  • Ensure accurate and timely donor interactions are entered into Altru

Communications

  • Draft compelling fundraising appeals, acknowledgments, and stewardship materials to engage donors and demonstrate the impact of their support.
  • Create sponsorship brochures for annual giving programs
  • Ensures proper cultivation and stewardship for general members, including implementing communications tactics that steward relationships with new and at-risk members that fit into the overall Thomas Jefferson Society retention strategy and fundraising plan
  • Works with graphic design and membership staff to design, print and digitize Thomas Jefferson Society materials.

Develop and Implement Annual Giving Strategies

  • Design and execute strategies to increase annual donations from individuals and corporations for annual community and education programs

Skills:

  • 1-3 three years of experience in fundraising, development, or donor relations, preferably with a focus on annual giving.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional visitor, donor, and internal customer service at all times in correspondence, on the telephone, and in person.
  • Outstanding communication (oral and written), multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with donors, volunteers, and colleagues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy as well as ability to multi-task and manage multiple objectives.
  • Database experience (Altru preferred)
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
  • A willingness to work flexible hours is necessary, with ability to attend evening and weekend events.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
