Position Summary:

The Digitization and Cataloging Specialist will work for a 5-year period completing cataloging and digitization work on the St.Louis Public Schools Photograph Collection. Cataloging and publishing a collection of oversize images, evaluating and completing 30,000 legacy cataloging records, and working on exhibit reproduction and graphic requests..

Duties/Responsibilities :

• Cataloging, review and update item-level records for negatives, photographs, and prints
• Digitize negatives, photos and prints using camera equipment and flatbed scanner
• Work with exhibit teams to fill research and graphic reproduction requests

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors or Masters degree, preferably in Museum Studies, Information Science or History
• Minimum 3-4 years of experience in archival or museum setting

Skills:

• Solid written and oral communication skills
• Experience in handling, cataloging, and digitizing photographic prints and negatives required
• Experience with Mimsy XG database and Adobe products preferred
