Production Technician

Position Summary:

The Missouri Historical Society seeks a part-time Production Technician.  Responsibilities include maintaining and safeguarding the institution's audiovisual equipment (including technical maintenance); deliver, set-up and breakdown equipment for presentations and events as assigned. The Production Technician will also operate lighting boards, audio mixers, microphones and other major equipment for LIVE streaming media technology; and utilize audio and video editing software for various projects, provide staging and technical support in the Lee Auditorium, and research equipment as needed. Flexible schedule a must-including evenings and weekends. 

Essential Functions:

• Set-up and run technical equipment at daytime programs and meetings, as well as evenings and weekends
• Deliver, set-up and break down equipment for meetings, presentations and events
• Operate the lighting boards, audio mixers, microphones, projection units, cameras, and the Tri Caster for LIVE streaming media technology
• Maintain and safeguard the institution's audiovisual equipment, including monitoring battery and lamp life and testing cable functionality, laptop connectivity, inputs and dimmers
• Use the audio and video editing software for special institutional projects
• Provide staging and technical support in the Lee Auditorium, including operating a Genie Lift, focusing lighting, coloring lights, designing lighting cues, and developing audio design for theater, dance, music and other MHS productions 

Qualifications:

• College 2 years, 4 years (minimum 2 years relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of formal education)
• Production experience in film theater, production, events, conferences
• Some lifting required; sitting, standing, walking, bending

Skills:

• Knowledge of LIVE audio, video, streaming and theater production
• Knowledge of audio and video editing
• Knowledge of computer and technology troubleshooting
• Knowledge of PC and MAC based applications and connectivity
