Resource Protection Lead Officer

Position Summary:

The Missouri Historical Society's Resource Protection Lead Officer is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for the Missouri Historical Society's staff, visitors, exhibitions and collections. The Resource Protection Lead Officer will be responsible for directing and training Officers on required security and safety practices in the absense of the supervisor or manager. The Lead Officer will deter and/or interdict criminal activity according to the Missouri Historical Society's policy and the St. Louis County Police Private Security Section.

Essential Functions:

• Provides excellent security service to all visitors, and achieve departmental standards in visitor satisfaction and service excellence
• Represent the Missouri Historical Society in an exemplary manner as front-line staff
• Conduct security patrols to deter the threat of crime
• Attend training and staff meetings as required
• Maintain accountability for submitting accurate documentation for required reports
• Perform tasks related to Resource Protection Officer duties

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; some secondary education in related field a plus
• Valid drivers license
• Licensed or able to obtain a Metropolitan Security Officers License through the St. Louis County Police Department Private Security Section
• Minimum 2 years supervisory/leadership role in related field
• Overall well experienced in related field

• Take initiative in offering assistance to team
• Demonstrate productivity and being alert at all times
