Sales Associate

Position Summary: 

The Missouri Historical Society seeks a part-time Retail Sales Associate to enhance customer satisfaction and strengthen customer loyalty through exceptional service.  

Essential Functions:

• Active selling; discovering the shopper's needs through the close of sale
• Provide customers with positive, memorable experience
• Accurate register sales input via the TAM Retail System and complete register transactions in a timely manner
• Assist in daily shop operations: organizing product, restocking, maintaing shop displays, filling orders, managing customers holds and requests
• Assist with annual shop inventory 
• Assist with opening and closing shop procedures
• Maintain written desktop procedures

Qualifications:

• High-school diploma
• Retail experience
• Available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays

Preferred Qualification:

• Non-profit retail accounting experience

Skills:

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, clients and general public
• Work collaboratively with internal and external customers
• Detail oriented and able to meet deadlines
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Effectively handle multiple projects concurrently
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
