Sales and Customer Service Coordinator

Position Summary:

The Missouri Historical Society seeks a Sales and Customer Service Coordinator to lead and maintain customer service standards that build relationships with visitors.  This position assists in creating a positive sales culture following standards set by management.  The Coordinator creates excitement for the MHS brand, and upholds merchandising and display standards as set by management.

Essential Functions:

• Contribute to an environment that fosters teamwork, effective communication and responsiveness
• In the absence of Museum Shop Manager and/or Assistant Manager, insure operations run efficiently and customer service standards remain high
• Accurately handle register and monetary sales transactions
• Achieve target sales expectations set by management
• Manage customer request book
• Assist in staff training and motivation
• Manage hold shelf and special orders
• Manage inventory control
• Assist in creating and maintaining effective product displays that increase sales
• Assist in shipping and receiving daily operations

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
• Not-for-Profit retail accounting experience desired
• TAM advanced knowledge and experience with integrated accounting systems for general ledger desired
• Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Word and Outlook or similar programs

Skills:

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external customers
• Must have solid financial and quantitative analysis skills
